Privacy Policy

SkipAudio transcribes voice messages that arrive in your WhatsApp account. This policy explains exactly what we receive, what we do with it, how long we keep it, and what we never do. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

SkipAudio is operated by SkipAudio, a service operated by Julio Cesar Sad Das Chagas, an individual based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your data, contact us at skipaudio.com/contact.

What happens when a voice message arrives

When someone sends a voice message to a chat SkipAudio is active in, the audio file is downloaded to our server, converted to a format suitable for transcription, sent to our transcription provider, turned into text, and delivered back into your chat as a reply. That is the entire flow.

What we store, and for how long

• The audio file: deleted from our servers within 24 hours. It is kept that briefly only so we can investigate if you report a transcription error. If you ask us to delete it immediately, we do.
• The transcribed text: not stored on our servers after it is delivered to your chat. The text lives in your WhatsApp conversation, where you control it.
• Usage records: we keep the date, the duration in seconds, the detected language, and whether the message came from a group. We do not keep the content. This is what powers your minute counter.
• Account data: your email, plan, activation code and the phone number you connected. Kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of cancellation if you ask.

Third parties

Audio is processed by OpenAI through their API. Under OpenAI API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models, and may be retained by them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deletion. We cannot shorten that window on your behalf. Payments are handled by our payment provider, who receives your billing details directly; we never see or store your card.

What we never do

• We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, at any price.
• We do not share transcripts or audio with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party beyond the processors named above.
• We do not use your audio or your transcripts to train any model of our own.
• We do not read your conversations. No human at SkipAudio opens your messages, except an audio file you yourself report as wrongly transcribed.
• We do not write messages on your behalf, other than the transcription reply itself.

Voice messages from other people

This matters and we will not bury it. Most of the audio SkipAudio transcribes was recorded by someone other than you: the people who send you voice messages. They are not our customers and they did not sign up.

Because of that, three things are true. We treat their audio with the same rules as yours: deleted within 24 hours, never sold, never used for training. We deliver the transcript only to the chat the message was already in, so nobody sees it who could not already hear the original. And in groups, SkipAudio stays off unless you switch it on for that specific group.

If you use SkipAudio in a professional setting where the people messaging you have a reasonable expectation of confidentiality, such as patients, clients, or job candidates, it is your responsibility to have a lawful basis for processing what they send you. We give you the controls; the relationship is yours.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through skipaudio.com/contact. We answer within 30 days. You can disconnect your WhatsApp account at any time from your SkipAudio page, which stops all processing immediately.

Security

Traffic to our site and to our processors is encrypted in transit. Access to the server is restricted to key-based authentication. Your activation page is protected by a private code that only you receive.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
